The Sakinah WAQF Foundation (SWF) is a foundation of the Sakinah Medical Outreach, incorporated at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2018 as a pioneering and independent community-driven foundation committed to innovative philanthropy through the Islamic institution of Waqf. Waqf is the most sustainable, enduring, and empowering of all voluntary Islamic charities and the Sakinah Waqf Foundation was established to uplift the community in a way of giving that is steeped in history and benevolence.

Through the SWF, Sakinah Medical Outreach will be able to address the inaccessibility of quality healthcare services to those in need. SWF has been involved in the development of the widely adopted NGO Corporate Governance Charter. SWF has also drafted its own Corporate Governance and Ethics and Donor’s Charter, and will serve the general community through Sakinah Medical Outreach with transparency, credibility, and local-knowledge.
